Osage orange with burl charcuterie board.

Osage orange trees have a unique history.  The giant green fruit known as "monkey balls" was eaten by the Wooly Mammoth and they spread the seeds all over North America.  The wood was prized by the Osage Native Americans for  making bows.  Before barbed wire and because of its thorns, the trees were planted as a natural fence for cattle and know as hedge apple trees.  The wood is the hardest and densest native tree allowing it to be polished to a high lustre.

Custom order cutting board.  Juice groove and scalloped edge to make it easy to pick up.
